Important: Any disputes concerning assets acquired during the marriage can be resolved after the finalization of a consensual divorce. Optional Services

Our law firm offers optional services for marriage dissolution, including the ecclesiastical annulment through the Holy Metropolis (mandatory only for marriages performed under the Christian Orthodox Doctrine) and the official divorce registration at the Registry Office. While spouses can handle these processes independently, we provide assistance if desired.

In cases where spouses are unwilling or unable to manage these procedures themselves (due to time constraints or geographical distance, for instance), our office can assume responsibility for these tasks. Additional fees, as outlined above, will apply for these services.

Payment Terms and Conditions

Our fee is payable in two installments:

1) Initial Retainer: €250.00 Due: Upon case assignment. This advance payment must be made when you engage our services and we formally accept your case.

2) Final Balance: Remaining amount Due: Within 3-4 business days after the powers of attorney are signed by both spouses and before the notarization of the marriage dissolution deed.

Greek Divorce Process

Important Notice: As of the current date, Greece has not implemented "online" or "digital" divorce procedures, despite the introduction of a related platform on Gov.gr. Notaries are prohibited from signing "digital" notarial deeds, as the Notary Code mandates that such documents must be signed in the physical presence of a notary. Consequently, the sole option for consensual marriage dissolution remains the traditional written divorce process.

① Spousal Agreement

The process begins with both spouses expressing their mutual consent to dissolve the marriage. This agreement must address key aspects such as child custody arrangements, support obligations, residential arrangements for children, and visitation schedules.

② Documentation Submission

Spouses are required to submit all necessary documents and pertinent information to our office. This enables us to draft a comprehensive marriage dissolution agreement that accurately reflects the terms of their mutual consent.

③ Drafting of Dissolution Agreement

Our legal team will meticulously draft the marriage dissolution agreement. Both spouses will then review and confirm the accuracy and completeness of the document's content.

④ Power of Attorney Execution

Spouses must execute powers of attorney. This can be done either at a notary's office or at Greek consular offices in their respective places of residence.

⑤ Notarization of Dissolution Act

The notarial deed of marriage dissolution will be officially signed by the representing attorneys and the notary. This step does not require the physical presence of the spouses.

⑥ Ecclesiastical Dissolution and Civil Registration

For marriages performed under the Christian Orthodox Doctrine, an ecclesiastical (spiritual) dissolution is mandatory. This requirement does not apply to civil marriages or those conducted under other religious traditions. Additionally, the notarial deed of marriage dissolution should be registered with the Civil Registry Office for all types of marriages. These services can be performed either by our office or by the spouses themselves.

⑦ Document Delivery

Upon completion of all necessary procedures, we will arrange for the secure delivery of all divorce documents to the addresses specified by the spouses. This service is available worldwide via courier.

Required Documents and Info

For the process of your consensual divorce, if you engage our services, we require the following:

1) Please provide via email or another convenient method (including Viber or WhatsApp at 6997083222):

- Copies of both spouses' Identity Cards (front and back). If either or both spouses are non-Greek nationals, we require copies of their passports instead.

- A Marriage Certificate (can be obtained electronically through https://www.gov.gr, from the Municipality where the marriage was registered, or from a Greek Citizen Service Center - KEP). There is no legal requirement regarding the date of issue for the marriage certificate. An older certificate is acceptable as long as it accurately reflects the marriage details.

- A Family Status Certificate (must be issued within the last three months; obtainable electronically via https://www.gov.gr, from the Municipality holding the spouse's family record, or from a Citizen Service Center - KEP).

2) Please provide the following information (no documentation required):

- Current residential addresses of both spouses.

- Contact phone numbers and email addresses (if available) for both spouses.

- Greek Tax Identification Numbers (AFM) and associated Tax Offices (DOY) for both spouses, if issued. We do not require tax identification numbers issued by countries other than Greece.

- Occupations of both spouses.

- Greek Social Security Numbers (AMKA) of both spouses, if issued.

3) If there are children under the age of 18 involved, please provide the following details:

- Custody arrangement (sole or joint custody).

- Primary residence of the children (with one parent or alternating between both).

- Children's place of residence (specify a general geographic area, which can range from a municipality to a whole country, e.g., Municipality of Amarousio, Regional Unit of East Attica, Prefecture of Chalkidiki, or even an entire country like Greece or Germany). According to Greek law, the children's place of residence can be altered only by mutual consent of both parents.

- Agreed child support amount to be paid by the non-custodial parent. For multiple children, specify individual amounts for each child and the applicable time periods. For older children (e.g., 13-14 years), you may set a single amount until they reach adulthood. For younger children (e.g., 4-5 years), consider setting one amount until they reach a certain age (e.g., 14 years) and a different amount from that age until adulthood, accounting for increasing living expenses.

- Proposed visitation schedule for the non-residential parent. We typically recommend flexible arrangements, allowing the non-custodial parent to communicate freely at mutually convenient times, always prioritizing the children's schedule and best interests.
